CAIRO – 26 October 2025: A devastating multi-vehicle crash on the busy Cairo-Suez highway late Saturday left at least two people dead and 41 others injured, the Ministry of Health reported.

Footage circulating online showed victims lying covered in white sheets amid wrecked vehicles and scenes of chaos along the road.

In one of the videos, an eyewitness said he narrowly escaped death after a heavy truck plowed into several cars at extremely high speed. The cause of the crash had not been officially determined at the time of writing.

A total of 28 ambulances rushed to the scene, transferring 38 injured people to Badr University Hospital, while three others were taken to El Shorouk Hospital, the ministry noted.

The ministry said it has raised the state of emergency at hospitals in Badr, El Shorouk, and neighboring areas, with rapid response teams placed on high alert to provide emergency medical care.
