CAIRO – 25 October 20235: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi attended the “Nation of Peace” celebration held on Saturday evening at the Opera House in the Arts and Culture City of the New Administrative Capital.
The national event was centered around the October Victory of 1973, in which Egyptian forces crossed the Suez Canal and reclaimed Sinai territories occupied by Israel since 1967, as well as Cairo's efforts to stop the war in Gaza and uphold the Palestinian cause.
The celebration brought together a star-studded lineup of Egyptian and Arab artists, including Mohamed Mounir, Assala Nasri, Amal Maher, Ahmed Saad, Mohamed Hamaki, Hamza Namira, and Medhat Saleh.
The celebration also featured appearances by popular actors and influencers such as Hesham Maged, Mostafa Gharib, Mohamed Sallam, Ahmed Ghazy, Nour El-Nabawy, Youssef Omar, and Mostafa Emad.
'People Who Refuse Defeat'
President Sisi extended his greetings to all participants, including Egypt’s artists, and praised the event’s powerful messages.
He expressed gratitude to Allah for the cessation of the war in Gaza and the end of two years of suffering for the Palestinian people, commending Egypt’s successful efforts that culminated in hosting the Sharm El-Sheikh Summit for Peace.
He stressed that October is the month of victory, a triumph achieved “not only through the strength of the army, but first and foremost through the determination of a people who refuse defeat.”
“A people who refuse defeat,” he said, “are granted victory by Allah.”
He called on universities, schools, and relevant state institutions to coordinate student visits to Sinai.
The president highlighted Egypt’s unwavering stance against displacement of the Palestinian people amid “all the calls that had urged us to accept their departure from Gaza.”
“It is so difficult to find yourself sometimes standing alone, thinking alone, while others are divided over whether they should be displaced or not.”
He reaffirmed that decision-making carries great responsibility, underscoring that Egypt’s cause is a just one, and that the country never encroaches upon the rights of others.
