CAIRO – 23 October 2025: Hamas delegation headed by Khalil al-Hayya met on Thursday with Fatah delegation headed by Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh and Palestinian Intelligence Chief Majed Faraj in Egypt, according to al Qahera news channel.
Hamas and Fatah delegations are discussing the national situation and arrangements for the post-war on the Gaza Strip.
The meeting comes within the framework of Egyptian efforts to achieve Palestinian national consensus on implementing the US President's plan to cease fire in Gaza.
Head of Egyptian General Intelligence also received on Thursday Fahd Suleiman, Secretary-General of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
The Supreme Palestinian Committee for Tribal Affairs issued a statement, appealing to the Fatah and Hamas delegations participating in the ongoing talks in Cairo, urging them to take bold and effective steps to end the division and achieve national unity.
In its statement, the committee affirmed that it is following the progress of the talks with "grave concern," emphasizing the need for the two delegations to prioritize the supreme national interest of the Palestinian people over any "narrow partisan or factional interests."
