CAIRO – 19 October 2025: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will attend on Sunday the 42nd Cultural Symposium organized by the Armed Forces to commemorate the 52nd anniversary of the glorious 6th of October, 1973 War victory.

The October 1973 Victory, in which Egyptian forces crossed the Suez Canal and reclaimed Sinai territories occupied by Israel since 1967, remains a defining moment in Egypt’s modern history.

The triumph restored national pride, reshaped regional dynamics, and demonstrated the resilience and unity of the Egyptian people. The anniversary continues to symbolize courage, sacrifice, and the enduring commitment to defending Egypt’s sovereignty and dignity.

Marking the 52nd war anniversary, President Sisi had earlier visited the Memorial of the Armed Forces’ Martyrs and laid wreaths at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the tomb of late President Mohamed Anwar El Sadat, and the mausoleum of late President Gamal Abdel Nasser.

He delivered a speech on this occasion, saluting the leaders of the armed forces, military personnel, and everyone who answered Egypt's call at that pivotal moment in its history.

“It’s the day when the world stood in respect and reverence for the great will of the Egyptians and the unity of Arab decision-making,” Sisi stressed.
