CAIRO- 17 October 2025: A phone call took place between Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, and Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, Prime Minister of Palestine.

The call focused on the ongoing preparations for the conference on early recovery, reconstruction, and development in Gaza, which is scheduled to be held in Cairo during the second half of November.

Ambassador Tamim Khalaf, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the call included an exchange of views between the two sides regarding the conference as part of their joint coordination.

The discussions covered all aspects related to the conference’s objectives and expected outcomes—particularly regarding funding and financial pledges—as well as updating the assessment of the scale of destruction in the Gaza Strip.

During the call, the Foreign Minister expressed his hope for active participation from all parties of the international community in the conference, which Egypt will host within the framework of the Arab-Islamic plan previously endorsed by Arab and Islamic states along with a large number of international partners. He also noted the ongoing coordination concerning the implementation of U.S. President Trump’s peace plan with regard to the redevelopment of Gaza.

For his part, the Palestinian Prime Minister praised Egypt’s efforts and its hosting of the conference. He expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s role in brokering a ceasefire in Gaza and in defending the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
