CAIRO -16 October 2025: The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities launched on Thursday the Grand Egyptian Museum’s [GEM] official website, as part of preparations for the much-anticipated opening on November 1.

According to the Ministry’s statement, the museum's new official website serves as an integrated digital portal that allows visitors to learn about the museum, its vision and mission, its history, its partners, and its Board of Trustees, as well as all the unique events, services, and experiences it offers.

The website includes interactive sections that provide visitors with directions, various transportation methods, visiting details and times, and the ability to easily and securely book and purchase tickets online. It also introduces visitors to the commercial area, which includes a distinguished group of restaurants, cafes, shopping areas, and parks.

Sherif Fathy, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, explained that the launch of the new website represents the first step in a visitor's journey to the Grand Egyptian Museum. It allows visitors to learn about the exceptional and diverse experiences the museum offers, enabling them to plan their visit and choose activities that suit their interests, in addition to interacting with the museum's content before visiting.

The Minister emphasized that this step contributes to boosting tourism and promoting the museum and the Egyptian tourist destination, as it serves as a model for utilizing technology to support both the cultural and tourist experience.

Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said on Wednesday that there is almost daily follow-up of the preparations for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.

The PM said that the Grand Egyptian Museum will be a ‘gift from Egypt to the world’, containing an archaeological and cultural heritage for all of humanity. “We expect the Grand Egyptian Museum, which is considered a tourist and heritage monument, to contribute to maximizing revenues and increasing the flow of tourists,” he added.

He also noted that the number of visitors to the Grand Egyptian Museum currently, and even before the official opening, exceeds the number of visitors to some international museums.
