CAIRO - 16 October 2025: An important agreement was signed Thursday between Egypt and Qatar to enhance cooperation in the health sector.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, witnessed Thursday, at the Government Headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Health and Population of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Ministry of Public Health of the State of Qatar, with the aim of supporting and strengthening bilateral cooperation in the health sector.
The ceremony was attended by Tariq Ali Faraj Al-Ansari, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Cairo, and Ambassador Ihab Fahmy, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Arab Affairs.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, and Mansour bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, Minister of Public Health of the State of Qatar.
The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding comes within the framework of the historical relations between Egypt and Qatar and the shared commitment to supporting and strengthening cooperation across various sectors and fields. It also focuses on exchanging expertise in the health sector, ensuring the provision of the best medical and pharmaceutical services to the people of both countries.
The Memorandum of Understanding aims to promote joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries in the field of public health and medical sciences.
This includes cooperation in the development, planning, and implementation of healthcare systems, utilizing modern technologies, as well as exchanging expertise and training medical and paramedical personnel in various specialties, in accordance with the latest international protocols and advanced technologies.
The MoU further includes cooperation in the field of exchanged foods to reduce the risk of foodborne diseases and establish frameworks to ensure the highest levels of food safety. It also aims to facilitate trade flow in this field and exchange expertise in laboratory analysis. This is in addition to enhancing cooperation in the field of public health, and training and improving patient quality and safety.
The Memorandum of Understanding indicates that joint cooperation in the health field will be implemented through a variety of mechanisms, including sending experts and delegations between the two countries to exchange expertise, information, and good health practices, and enhancing the participation of experts in conferences and events held in both countries. This is in addition to holding virtual or physical training courses to develop capabilities.
