CAIRO – 15 October 2025: Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said on Wednesday that Egypt is negotiating the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam wisely and patiently and will not relinquish its historical right to the Nile River waters.

He added in his weekly meeting with Ministers that Egypt is fully aware of the challenges in the GERD issue, and that we were able to overcome the process of filling the dam without being affected.

“We hope in the coming period to reach a binding agreement with Ethiopia and Sudan regarding the management of the water system along the Nile waters shared by the three countries”, PM Madbouly added.

On Palestine and the Gaza deal, the Prime Minister affirmed that Egypt has performed its duty with utmost strength, transparency, honor, wisdom, and integrity regarding the Palestinian cause since day one.

“We have not abandoned our Palestinian brothers for a single day, despite all the campaigns of distortion, denial, and skepticism,” Egypt’s PM said

He confirmed that Egypt gave all the help it could to brothers in Palestine with all the strength we could, in light of what was available to us in the midst of this inhumane war that was being imposed on our brothers in Palestine.

Madbouly pointed out that the Egyptian state, through its various diplomatic and sovereign agencies, has engaged in long negotiations over the past period to achieve a ceasefire, whether the one achieved in the midst of the war or the final agreement that was crowned with success in the past few days.

The PM noted that Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Conference recalls that Egypt was always a pioneer in peace during the 1970s, through the late leader Mohamed Anwar Sadat, by moving forward with the peace process, adding that today Egypt is repeating the same theme, not for itself, but for our Palestinian brothers, through cooperation and coordination.

“We are all hopeful that after the ceasefire is established, several steps will be initiated, the most prominent of which is Gaza reconstruction. “

He stressed that Egypt will host the reconstruction conference in the coming period, and that there are still difficult steps in the negotiation process, stabilizing the situation on the ground, and moving on to the other steps. ‘However, we are full of hope.’

The Prime Minister also referred to the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum, explaining that there is almost daily follow-up of the preparations for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.

“I will go there tomorrow on an inspection visit to see for myself the preparations on the ground for the celebration and to ensure that it will appear in the appropriate way that we all hope for,” PM says

PM said that the Grand Egyptian Museum will be a ‘gift from Egypt to the world’, containing an archaeological and cultural heritage for all of humanity. “We expect the Grand Egyptian Museum, which is considered a tourist and heritage monument, to contribute to maximizing revenues and increasing the flow of tourists,” he added.

He also noted that the number of visitors to the Grand Egyptian Museum currently, and even before the official opening, exceeds the number of visitors to some international museums.

Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity who attended the weekly meeting, referred to the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, regarding the importance of ensuring the adequate, sustainable, and urgent flow of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip and removing all obstacles to the entry

The minister pointed out that Egypt is considered the gateway for the largest amount of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, since the beginning of the war in October 2023, that is, 735 days of aid.

Regarding the details of the aid delivered to the people in Gaza, the Minister explained that the total aid amounted to approximately 600,000 tons, including (approximately 95,000 tons of relief aid, more than 59,000 tons of medical aid, and approximately 446,000 tons of food aid).

Other aid includes approximately 83,000 tons of petroleum products, 209 ambulances, and two field hospitals in Arish, in addition to four field hospitals in Gaza, Minister of social solidarity said

The Minister also pointed to the “Zad Al-Izza from Egypt to Gaza” convoys, which ran from July 27 to October 14, noting that the number of convoys reached 50, including 3,814 trucks, and provided approximately 62,070 tons of aid, 2,792,785 food baskets, 407,600 bags of flour, 709,000 personal hygiene kits, and 5,632 tents.
