CAIRO – 12 October 2025: Humanitarian aid covoys entered the besieged Gaza Strip from the Egyptian side to the border corssings of Karam Abu Salem and Auja, just two days after the casefire in Gaza between Hamas and Israel entered into force, Al-Qahera News reported on Sunday.

Approximately 400 trucks carrying humanitarian aid are expected to enter the Gaza Strip today. The channel's correspondent indicated that 90% of the humanitarian aid heading to Gaza is Egyptian.

Since the start of the crisis, the Egyptian Red Crescent has served as a key national mechanism for coordinating and dispatching aid to Gaza. The Rafah crossing has remained operational on the Egyptian side, supported by a network of logistical centers and over 35,000 volunteers. To date, Egypt has delivered more than half a million tons of humanitarian and relief aid to Gaza

The “Zad al-Izza... From Egypt to Gaza” convoy was initially launched by the Egyptian Red Crescent on July 27, carrying thousands of tons of aid—including food, flour, baby formula, medical supplies, therapeutic drugs, hygiene products, and fuel.
