CAIRO – 12 October 2025: The Qatari Embassy in Cairo early on Sunday expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of three members of the Amiri Diwan in a tragic traffic accident in Sharm El Sheikh city.

The embassy mourned the victims, who lost their lives while they were performing their official duties.

The deceased officials are Saud bin Thamir Al Thani, Abdullah Ghanim Al Khayareen, and Hassan Jabir Al Jabir.

The traffic accident occurred overnight, when the Egyptian driver lost control of a vehicle carrying five Qatari officials, according to Al Qahera News. The cause of the incident was not officially confirmed.

The two other Qataris were injured and were immediately transferred to Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital for treatment.

Egyptian authorities have launched an investigation to determine the full circumstances and cause of the accident.

The embassy extended its gratitude to the Egyptian authorities for their cooperation, for closely following up on the incident, and for providing the necessary assistance.

It added that it is coordinating with Egyptian authorities regarding the crash and that both the deceased and the injured will be transported to Doha aboard a Qatari plane on Sunday.
