Trump warns Hamas of ‘complete obliteration’ if it refuses to relinquish Gaza control

CAIRO – 5 October 2025: US President Donald Trump has warned that Hamas will face “complete obliteration” if the group refuses to surrender power in Gaza, Reuters reported, as he pushes forward with his plan to end the ongoing war in the territory.

Speaking in an interview with CNN that aired Sunday, Trump said he expects to know soon whether Hamas intends to commit to peace.

When asked whether Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu supports halting the bombing campaign in Gaza and aligning with Washington’s broader peace framework, Trump responded, “Yes on Bibi,” signaling Netanyahu’s backing of US efforts.
