CAIRO – 5 October 2025: As Egypt and its Armed Forces mark the 52nd anniversary of the glorious October 6, 1973 victories, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi visited the Memorial of the Armed Forces’ Martyrs on Sunday morning.

Upon his arrival, the president was received by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Minister of Defense and Military Production, General Abdel Mageed Saqr, and Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, along with the commanders of the army’s main branches and the Central Military Region.

President Sisi Sisi laid wreaths at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the tomb of late President Mohamed Anwar El Sadat, and the mausoleum of late President Gamal Abdel Nasser.

The president greeted members of the late leaders’ families and senior Armed Forces commanders.

The October 1973 Victory, in which Egyptian forces crossed the Suez Canal and reclaimed Sinai territories occupied by Israel since 1967, remains a defining moment in Egypt’s modern history.

The triumph restored national pride, reshaped regional dynamics, and demonstrated the resilience and unity of the Egyptian people. The anniversary continues to symbolize courage, sacrifice, and the enduring commitment to defending Egypt’s sovereignty and dignity.
