CAIRO – 30 September 2025: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Tuesday with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty.
The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, stated that President Sisi was briefed on the most important outcomes of Egypt's participation in the high-level segment of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which saw the presentation of Egypt's visions and stances during various meetings concerned with regional and international issues.
The foreign minister presented a comprehensive report on the Egyptian participation, the bilateral meetings, and the involvement in numerous events held on the sidelines of the regular session of the UN General Assembly. This is in addition to the full appreciation for the wise leadership of President Sisi amidst regional and international challenges, and for Egypt being a pillar of security and stability.
The President was also briefed on the Fourth Executive Report of the National Human Rights Strategy, which includes the required targets over five years (2021-2026).
The foreign minister, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Supreme Standing Committee for Human Rights, reviewed what the report reflects of diligent efforts by all national entities to continue implementing the strategy within the framework of the President's sustainable directives.
He also highlighted the increase in indicators related to the procedures and measures taken in the various axes of the strategy, whether concerning civil and political rights or economic, social, and cultural rights, in addition to the efforts made to promote the rights of women, children, youth, the elderly, and people with disabilities, as well as the promotion of human rights and fundamental freedoms in Egypt with its comprehensive concept for all without discrimination.
President Sisi reiterated the necessity for national entities to continue their efforts to ensure the full and effective implementation of the National Strategy's objectives, and to continue integrating it into national strategies, plans, programs, and public state policies; thus ensuring the respect and promotion of human rights and fundamental freedoms guaranteed by the Egyptian Constitution, and in consistency with Egypt's international commitments.
President Sisi also gave directives to continue efforts to raise public awareness of human rights, and the related rights and duties. The President emphasized the need to continue working to develop the legislative and institutional infrastructure supporting this direction, and to consider how to move forward, including starting preparations for a new human rights strategy in cooperation with various national entities and all stakeholders, particularly civil society.
