Firefighting and ambulance crews rushed to the scene, where emergency teams continue searching for more victims feared trapped under the rubble
CAIRO – 26 September 2025: Rescue teams pulled two more bodies and an injured worker from the rubble of a collapsed textile dyeing facility in El Mahalla El Kubra of Nile Delta’s Gharbia governorate, raising the death toll to 10 and injuring 30.
Search efforts continue for others who may still be trapped.
Earlier in the day, a fire engulfed the three-story facility in El Yamani area causing a partial collapse of the building.
Emergency crews managed to control the blaze, but smoke and flames reignited hours later, prompting renewed firefighting efforts.
Civil defense teams swiftly returned to the scene, working urgently to suppress the fire before it could spread further. Meanwhile, the Gharbia ambulance service dispatched 26 ambulances to support rescue operations.
The injured have been transferred to Mahalla General Hospital, which declared a state of emergency to provide immediate care.
