CAIRO – 25 September 2025: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty on Thursday reiterated Egypt’s unwavering support for all measures that safeguard Jordan’s security and stability

During talks with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Abdelatty stressed that bolstering bilateral relations is particularly vital amid the unprecedented challenges facing the region, which require closer coordination and consultation to serve Arab and African interests.

The meeting, held on the sidelines of the 80th UN General Assembly in New York, highlighted the special nature of Egyptian-Jordanian ties and their shared destiny and goals.

Abdelatty praised the outcomes of the 33rd session of the Joint Higher Committee in Amman last August, underlining the need to fully implement its decisions

He also welcomed the regular convening of the committee as a clear signal of the importance attached by both leaderships to advancing relations.

The minister pointed to the need to boost economic and trade cooperation, particularly in energy and regional integration projects, while commending progress made under the trilateral cooperation mechanism between Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq.

On the Palestinian cause, Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s rejection of Israel’s ongoing aggression in Gaza and violations in the West Bank, warning of their catastrophic consequences.

He stressed the urgent need for a comprehensive ceasefire and unimpeded humanitarian access while underscoring Cairo and Amman’s continued coordination to rally international support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967, borders with East Jerusalem as its capital
