CAIRO – 21 September 2025: Israeli media reported on Sunday that rockets were launched from northern Gaza toward Israel.
An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed that sirens were heard in the Ashdod area, noting that two rockets were fired, Israeli media reported.
One of the rockets was intercepted while the other exploded in an open area, according to the spokesman.
No casualties or damage have been reported so far.
The rocket launch comes while Israel has intensified attacks on northern Gaza’s Gaza City, which used to house around one million Palestinians before the current Israeli operation started in recent weeks.
Since its start in October 2023, the ongoing Israeli war in Gaza has killed more than 65,000 people, reduced much of the territory to rubble, displaced the majority of its 2.2 million residents, and plunged the enclave into famine.
