CAIRO – 19 September 2025: A security source denied on Friday any connection between the Ministry of Interior or police officers at the Damietta Security Directorate and an association that collected money from citizens to purchase housing units in a project in New Damietta City, without fulfilling the delivery deadline.
In a Facebook post, a man complained through his account that an association collected money from him and others to purchase housing units in a project in New Damietta City, however, they never received their units despite that the delivery deadline was three years ago.
He claimed that this association was affiliated with police officers in the Damietta Security Directorate.
The man was summoned and questioned by the police, as he explained that he had suffered harm from the association's administrators because they had not handed over the unit allocated to him within the project, despite having paid all the financial dues. He noted that the delivery date had been scheduled three years ago.
An investigation also revealed that the complainant did not file any official report regarding the incident.
In a statement, the source confirmed that the association is not affiliated with the Ministry of Interior or the Damietta Security Directorate in any way.
The necessary legal measures were taken in response to his statements against the association mentioned in his complain.
