CAIRO – 19 September 2025: The Central Administration for Tourism and Resorts in Alexandria announced the implementation of the Alexandria Governorate's instructions regarding the complete closure of Alexandria's beaches in both the eastern and western sectors.
The administration confirmed that it is closely monitoring beach tenants' compliance with the decision, ensuring that gates are closed and that visitors are not allowed.
It also confirmed that river rescue teams, lifeguards, and divers are fully deployed across all of Alexandria's beaches to monitor the situation moment by moment.
This comes in light of warnings issued by the General Authority for Meteorology. The Alexandria Governorate urged citizens to exercise caution, as weather forecasts indicate disruptions to maritime navigation in some areas of the Mediterranean coast, particularly in the areas of Marsa Matruh, El Alamein, Alexandria, Baltim, Damietta, and Port Said.
Accordingly, it was decided to raise the red flag on the beaches of both sectors and close the beaches of the eastern and western sectors, Friday, starting at 2:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday, until weather conditions improve and to ensure the safety of citizens.
