CAIRO – 11 September 2025: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty held a bilateral meeting with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs of the United Arab Emirates, as part of his current visit to the Emirati capital, Abu Dhabi. Both ministers voiced their total condemnation and rejection to the Israeli attacks on Doha

The two ministers reaffirmed their deep pride in the close and strategic relations between Egypt and the UAE, highlighting their shared commitment to further strengthening ties in various sectors, particularly in economy, trade, and investment, for the mutual benefit of both nations.

Minister Abdelatty praised the UAE’s significant investment in Egypt, specifically referencing the Ras El-Hikma and Red Sea development projects, which he described as a qualitative leap in the bilateral economic partnership. He also expressed hope for further cooperation in energy, logistics, industry, and digital transformation, building on Egypt’s favorable investment environment.

The ministers welcomed the regular convening of the Egypt-UAE Joint Economic Committee, viewing it as a key institutional mechanism for advancing economic cooperation. Abdelatty underscored Egypt’s continued efforts to implement comprehensive economic reforms aimed at empowering the private sector, improving the business climate, and offering tax and customs incentives under the National Investment Strategy 2024–2030.

Regarding regional issues, the worsening humanitarian crisis in the occupied Palestinian territories was a central focus of the discussions. The ministers agreed on the urgent need to end the catastrophic situation in Gaza, with Minister Abdelatty strongly condemning ongoing Israeli aggression. He asserted that the systematic killings and starvation in Gaza constitute blatant violations of international law and significantly undermine efforts toward de-escalation and peace.

The two ministers condemned the Israeli missile strike on Doha on September 9, which targeted a meeting of Palestinian leaders discussing a potential ceasefire. The attack killed five Hamas officials and a Qatari security officer, though senior figures such as Khalil Al-Hayya and Zaher Jabrin survived.

Abdelatty and Sheikh Abdullah called the attack on the Qatari capital an extremely dangerous escalation that poses a direct threat to the security of a fellow Arab state. They affirmed their full solidarity with Qatar, its leadership, government, and people, and emphasized that such acts are unacceptable under any justification, constituting a violation of Arab sovereignty and a threat to collective Arab national security.

Furthermore, the two ministers discussed the situation in Sudan and efforts to resolve the crisis, with Minister Abdelatty stressing the importance of a ceasefire and ensuring the flow of aid to all the Sudanese people.

The two ministers concluded the meeting by stressing the two countries' commitment to continuous coordination and consultation at the highest levels, and to active engagement in confronting common challenges to preserve Arab national security and strengthen the pillars of regional stability.
