CAIRO – 4 September 2025: Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty on Thursday met with Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs Asaad al-Shaibani on the sidelines of the 164th session of the Arab League Council in Cairo.
The meeting touched on the latest developments in Syria, with Abdelatty affirming Egypt's support for the unity and sovereignty of the Syrian state and its national institutions.
In this regard, the Egyptian foreign minister emphasized the importance of reaching a comprehensive political settlement that enhances stability in Syria and the region.
Abdelatty condemned the repeated Israeli attacks on Syrian territory in flagrant violation of international law and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, stressing the need to respect Syria's sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.
