President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi commemorates the 1,500th anniversary of Prophet Muhammad's birth (Mawlid Al-Nabi) - Presidency
CAIRO – 3 September 2025: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has reassured the Egyptian people of state’s vigilance and awareness regarding “what is happening around us and what is being plotted against us.”
Attending a ceremony to commemorate the 1,500th lunar anniversary of Prophet Muhammad's birth (Mawlid Al-Nabi) on Wednesday, the president emphasized Egypt’s firm stance in confronting challenges with carefully planned measures.
“I reassure the great Egyptian people of our vigilance and awareness of what is happening around us and what is being plotted against us.
We stand firm in facing challenges with well-considered measures, confident in Allah’s help, relying on the steadfastness of our people, and depending on our capabilities to provide a safe and stable life for our citizens throughout the homeland.
No matter how many forms of evil arise or how many methods they use, Egypt, by the will of its God, will remain a land of safety, peace, and dignity,” the president stressed.

Sisi extended his congratulations to the Egyptian people, the Arab and Islamic nations, and all humanity on this blessed occasion.
The president stated that today’s celebration holds a rare significance, marking 1,500 lunar years since his noble birth.
“We are witnessing a Muhammadan centenary that will not recur for another hundred years from today.”
He emphasized this occasion as “a great opportunity to revive the values and ethics” that Prophet Muhammad has embodied.
“Our celebration should be a genuine, renewed impetus to renew ethical values in every aspect of life: honoring and caring for childhood and discovering its talents; respecting and supporting women; honesty in speech and action; trustworthiness and loyalty; confronting all forms of sadness, despair, and hopelessness; boldly opposing extremism, fanaticism, violence, and terrorism; inspiring hearts toward development; promoting science and research in all scientific fields; loyalty to the nation and preserving it, readiness to sacrifice and martyrdom for its protection; striving to unite all its people in goodness and success; patience despite harm and forgiveness; building civilization and institutions; harnessing all energies; and managing stable, balanced, and impartial international relations.”
The president stressed that “this was the nature of our master Muhammad, peace be upon him, and this is how our celebration of his birthday should be.”
“We must translate our love for his noble status into illuminated action programs.”
During the ceremony, the president conferred the Order of Science and Arts of the First Class upon a number of distinguished scholars from Al-Azhar and the Ministry of Endowments.

He also conferred the Order of Merit of the First Class upon Khaled Mohamed Shawky Abdel Aal, a petroleum transport driver who was martyred after being injured in a fuel supply truck fire at a gas station in the 10th of Ramadan area.
Khaled Shawky demonstrated the finest examples of heroism, sacrifice, and altruism, sacrificing his life for the safety of his colleagues and citizens at the scene of the accident.
