CAIRO - 2 SEPTEMBER 2025: Cairo University President Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadeq announced that the university has finalized preparations for the upcoming academic year, set to begin on September 20. He said extensive work is underway to equip lecture halls, laboratories, and libraries to ensure a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment for students.

In a televised interview, Abdel-Sadeq highlighted the university’s focus on upgrading student housing, which accommodates around 12,000 students. Renovations included improving building infrastructure, upgrading internet networks across all dormitories, securing food supplies that meet strict safety and quality standards, and preparing sports fields and recreational areas within campus housing.

On curriculum development, Abdel-Sadeq said the university is aligning its programs with labor market demands by introducing new fields of study. These include a French-language medical program attracting students from across Africa and a digital media program combining theoretical study with hands-on training in on-campus studios and labs. Partnerships with foreign universities, particularly in France, aim to equip graduates with the skills required for modern employment.

He further noted that Cairo University is integrating advanced topics such as artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship into its academic programs to match the fast-evolving demands of local and global job markets.
