Sisi greets Egyptian Muslims abroad on Prophet Mohamed’s Birthday

CAIRO - 1 September 2025: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has greeted members of the Egyptian Muslim communities abroad on the occasion of Al-Mawlid Al-Nabawy (Prophet Mohamed’s  birthday).

In a telegram posted by Egyptian embassies and consulates abroad on Sunday to members of the Egyptian communities on their social media pages, the Egyptian president said: "My fellow Egyptian Muslims abroad... I am pleased to send you my most sincere greetings and best wishes on the occasion of the birthday of the most honorable of all creation, our Master Mohamed (peace and blessings be upon him). I pray to God Almighty for your continued success and for our beloved Egypt further progress and prosperity."

Al-Mawlid Al-Nabawi coincides with Sept. 4 this year. It is a beloved occasion in Egypt and is celebrated by prayers, songs praising the Prophet, shows and podcasts on his life, as well as nutty sweets available almost exclusively during the occasion. It is also a paid holiday.
