Egypt launches 9th train to facilitate Sudanese voluntary home return

CAIRO – 29 August 2025: Egyptian National Railways (ENR) launched on Friday the ninth train to facilitate the voluntary return of Sudanese citizens residing in Egypt to their homeland.

The ENR said in a statement that Train No. 1940 departed from Cairo Station to the Aswan High Dam Station, carrying 940 Sudanese nationals.

 

The train reflects the Egyptian state's commitment to providing all logistical and humanitarian facilities and care to Sudanese citizens, especially the elderly and the most needy groups.

 

The Sudanese citizens expressed their deep appreciation for Egypt's leadership, government, and people, praising the full support and excellent organization of the return trips.
