Salah Jumblatt appointed as Vice President of Egypt’s National Organization for Military Production

CAIRO - 24 August 2025: Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah El-Din Mustafa issued a decision appointing Salah Soliman Jumblatt as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of the National Organization for Military Production (NoMP).

The Egyptian Ministry of Military Production said in a statement on Sunday that this decision reflects the minister's commitment to revitalizing the organization by bringing in fresh leadership and leveraging the expertise of distinguished professionals. “The aim is to advance the ministry’s strategic objectives, reinforce governance principles across all affiliated companies and units, and ensure optimal use of modern manufacturing technologies,” the statement read.

The minister also extended his gratitude to Jumblatt’s predecessor Engineer Emile Helmy Elias for his dedicated service as Vice Chairman of the Authority since August 2022.

In response, Jumblatt expressed his appreciation to Minister Mustafa for the trust placed in him. He pledged to work diligently to serve the authority and its affiliated entities, and to contribute to the continuous development of the ministry’s strategic plans, the statement added.

Jumblatt also emphasized the importance of increasing local components in standardized products, localizing cutting-edge manufacturing technologies in both military and civilian domains, and fostering integration with the private sector across various industries. Jumblatt also underscored the importance of prioritising joint projects and ensuring their implementation at the highest levels of efficiency.

Moreover, he highlighted the necessity of investing in human capital by training and empowering employees across all affiliated entities, believing that the human element is central to the success of the production process.

As for his career in the Egyptian Armed Forces, Salah Soliman Jumblatt served in the Weapons and Ammunition Department, the Armed Forces Technical Research Center, and the Armament Authority. 

He holds a Master’s degree in Weapons Mechanics from the Military Technical College (2000) and earned a Ph.D. in Space and Aviation Sciences from the United States in 2010.

He was seconded to the Ministry of Military Production in December 2018, where he headed various technical sectors within the National Organization for Military Production. In January 2023, he was appointed head of Abu Zaabal Specialized Chemicals Company (Military Factory 18), achieving significant success during his tenure. 

He also served as a member of NoMP’s Board of Directors until his recent appointment as Vice Chairman and Managing Director in August 2025.
