CAIRO - 24 August 2025: Israel launched three airstrikes on Yemen on Sunday, targeting an oil company’s station, a power station, and the presidential palace in Sanaa.
The Houthi channel of Al-Masirah reported that two people were killed and 5 others were wounded in Sana'a due to the Israeli aggression on the oil company station, in a preliminary toll.
Israeli media reported that more than 10 Israeli fighter jets participated in the attack on Yemen, firing more than 35 missiles and shells.
The Israeli defense forces said in a statement that the attacks targeted the infrastructure of Houthis in Sanaa, including the presidential palace, the two power stations of Asar and Hiziz, and a site of storing fuel.
Israel announced that the attacks came in response to the Houthis attacks on Israel.
However, the Houthi-owned Al-Masirah channel quoted a Houthi military source saying that air defenses neutralized most Israeli aircraft and forced them to withdraw.
Earlier today, Sky News Arabia earlier reported that Washington has suddenly decided to withdraw all its troops from Ain Al-Assad and Victory military bases in Iraq.
On August 22, the Houthi Armed Forces announced that it implemented three military operations, one of which targeted Lod Airport in occupied Jaffa with a Palestine 2 hypersonic ballistic missile. The other two targeted a military base and a vital one in the occupied Ashkelon and Jaffa regions.
On August 17, the Israeli army announced it had targeted energy infrastructure located approximately 2,000 kilometers from Israel, in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, in response to repeated Houthi missile and drone attacks on Israeli territory.
In its statement, the army claimed the targeted infrastructure was used by the Houthi group and blamed the Houthis for conducting “terrorist” operations against global maritime trade and navigation.
The Houthis stated that their continued attacks on Israel, which began following the start of the Gaza war on October 7, 2023, are in support of the Palestinian people and in response to Israeli “crimes of genocide and starvation.”
