CAIRO - 23 August 2025: Ambassador Hossam Zaki, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, stressed that the recent Israeli actions and intentions in the Gaza Strip are not only unacceptable and condemned, but also pave the way for a new and dangerous phase that will return the situation to what it was before 2005, when the Israeli army effectively occupied the Strip.

During a special interview with Ahmed Sinjab, a correspondent for Al-Qahera TV News Channel from Beirut, Zaki said that the Israeli army's withdrawal from Gaza at that time was the result of several factors, including the presence of Palestinian resistance.

He asked, "Is what Israel is seeking today to facilitate the displacement of the Palestinian population from the Gaza Strip, pushing them towards the Egyptian border, and perhaps to distant countries and regions?" He emphasized that Israeli intentions are "not good."

Zaki added, "We hope that the wise people of this world, specifically the US administration, will assume their true role in curbing this clear Israeli extremism."
