Egypt launches 6th train to facilitate Sudanese voluntary home return

CAIRO – 20 August 2025: The Egyptian National Railways (ENR) launched on Wednesday the sixth train to facilitate the voluntary return of Sudanese citizens residing in Egypt to their homeland.

The ENR said in a statement that Train No. 1940 departed from Cairo Station to the Aswan High Dam Station, carrying hundreds of Sudanese families.

 

The train reflects the Egyptian state's commitment to providing all logistical and humanitarian facilities and care to Sudanese citizens, especially the elderly and the most needy groups.

The Sudanese citizens expressed their deep appreciation for Egypt's leadership, government, and people, praising the full support and excellent organization of the return trips.
