CAIRO - 19 August 2025: The construction of the Khor May Bridge, the highest bridge in Egypt, has been completed, according to a statement by the General Authority for Roads and Bridges.
The bridge is of one of the most important industrial projects on the first line of the high-speed electric train network, connecting Ain Sokhna, Alamein, and Matrouh. The superstructure was implemented using a mobile trolley system.
The Khor May Bridge connects the banks of two mountains, between which a seasonal torrent flows in the 15th of May city, along the path of the high-speed electric train.
The bridge consists of nine axes, with a total concrete length of 550 meters and a width of 14 meters. Two axes of the bridge are 80 meters high, and the remaining axes stand at varying heights on the two mountains.
