CAIRO – 16 August 2025: Egypt's population reached 108 million on Saturday, August 16, 2025, according to the state-owned Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
The population stood at 107 million on November 2, 2024, based on CAPMAS’s population clock, which is linked to the Ministry of Health and Population’s birth and death registration database.
This means Egypt added one million people in 287 days (approximately 9 months and 17 days), marking the latest milestone in population growth.
Notably, the time it took to add this one million has lengthened—287 days compared to 268 days for the previous million, and 250 days before that. This slowdown is attributed to a decline in the average number of daily births, which dropped to 5,165 during this period, compared to 5,385 births per day in the previous cycle, and 5,599 births per day in the cycle before that.
