Sisi affirms Egypt ready to contribute in financing Angolo Dam project between Ughanda, Kenya

CAIRO - 12 August 2025: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Tuesday Yoweri Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda, Tuesday at Al-Ittihadiya Palace.

 

Both leaders discussed ways to advance and strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, in addition to a number of regional and international issues of common interest.

 

They witnessed the signing of five MoUs for collaboration in different fields. 

 

For his part, President El-Sisi affirmed to President Museveni Egypt's full support for development efforts in Uganda and other sister countries in the Southern Nile Basin, and "our readiness to contribute to financing the Angololo Dam project between Uganda and Kenya," through the mechanism Egypt launched to invest in infrastructure projects in the Nile Basin, with an initial funding of $100 million.
