11th aid convoy from Egyptian Zakat , Charity House enters besieged Gaza Strip

CAIRO – 10 August 2025: As part of ongoing support for the Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip, the 11th relief convoy from the Egyptian Zakat and Charity House (EZCH) entered Gaza on Sunday morning.

This initiative was launched under the directives of the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmed el-Tayeb. The aid will be distributed to Palestinians who have endured a devastating war and a prolonged blockade that has pushed the strip to the brink of famine.

This latest convoy includes over 1,000 fully equipped tents and thousands of tons of essential supplies—food, clean water, medical and living necessities, baby formula, diapers, medicines, and healthcare products. This comes in urgent response to international and local reports warning of a rapidly worsening famine, particularly in northern Gaza.

The launch of the eleventh convoy comes as part of the global “Help Gaza” campaign, initiated by the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar under the slogan "Strive with your wealth... and support Palestine." Charitable and humanitarian organizations from more than 85 countries contributed to the preparation of this convoy, which delivers thousands of tons of vital relief aid—medicines, medical supplies, baby essentials, clothing, blankets, dry and canned food, and potable water.

On August 4, the grand imam inspected the preparation for this convoy before its delivry.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) announced that a new humanitarian aid convoy, the 11th of its kind under ERC’s initiative “Zad Al-Izzah: From Egypt to Gaza,” has entered the Gaza Strip on Sunday.

The convoy is delivering essential relief supplies to Palestinians affected by the ongoing Israeli war in Gaza, which has damaged basic facilities including bakeries and hospitals, depleted the resources of the enclave, and sent the enclave to the brink of famine. 

Hospitals in the Gaza Strip recorded five new deaths due to famine and malnutrition over the past 24 hours, including two children, announced the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza on Sunday.

This brings the total number of victims of famine and malnutrition to 217, including 100 children.

Meanwhile, 61 martyrs (including two recovered martyrs) and 363 injuries arrived at Gaza Strip hospitals over the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll from the Israeli aggression to 61,430 martyrs and 153,213 injuries since October 7, 2023.

Several victims remain under the rubble and on the roads, as ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach them at 217 time.
