Side of the meeting between FM Badr Abdelatty and press leaders
CAIRO - 6 August 2025: Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, received Tuesday Khaled El-Balshy, Head of the Journalists Syndicate.
The meeting was attended by Mohamed El-Shazly, a member of the Journalists Syndicate Council and head of the Syndicate's Arab and International Affairs Committees.
Minister Abdelatty expressed his appreciation for the role played by the Syndicate and all journalists in defending national and regional issues and interests, and in enlightening public opinion about the challenges facing the country, the Arab world, and the region during this critical and delicate phase facing the region.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs praised the ongoing cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Journalists Syndicate, and other press institutions, emphasizing the Ministry's commitment to strengthening channels of communication and cooperation with national press and media institutions.
The meeting also addressed the vital role played by the Syndicate, the Egyptian press, and Egyptian media in general in conveying an accurate and realistic picture of the progress witnessed by the Egyptian state in various sectors and fields, as well as the risks and challenges it faces, and raising awareness of the efforts made to advance society, defend national interests, and safeguard the security and stability of the region.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs also discussed with the Head of the Journalists Syndicate areas of cooperation between the Ministry and the Syndicate, including organizing periodic events, meetings and educational sessions at the Syndicate to review the determinants of Egyptian foreign policy in light of the principle of strategic balance established by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Egyptian positions on various regional and international issues, most notably the Palestinian issue.
They also discussed organizing joint programs and activities in the field of training and capacity building, in addition to facilitating consular transactions for Syndicate members in various authentication offices.
