CAIRO – 4 August 2025: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from the President of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun, on Monday, addressing regional developments and ways to achieve calm and de-escalation in the region.
The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said the call addressed ways to strengthen relations between the two countries. The two presidents affirmed their commitment to further advancing bilateral cooperation across various fields, including the fields of economy, trade, and investment, to fulfill the aspirations of the two peoples.
President El-Sisi affirmed Egypt's unwavering support for Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity, in addition to Egypt’s categorical rejection of any violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty. The President also reiterated Egypt's support for the efforts of Lebanese national institutions in achieving security and stability in the country, stressing Egypt's keenness to assist the Lebanese government's reconstruction efforts, which was appreciated by the Lebanese president.
Furthermore, the call touched on the latest developments in the Gaza Strip. The two presidents stressed the need to reach an immediate ceasefire, end the Israeli aggression, ensure the entry of urgent humanitarian aid, release the hostages and captives, and promptly begin the reconstruction process in the Strip. They also affirmed the firm position of both Egypt and Lebanon in supporting the Palestinian people and their legitimate right to establish their independent state and rejecting the displacement of Palestinians from their land.
