Long Live Egypt aid convoy sent to Gaza Strip - file
CAIRO - 4 August 2025: Palestinian Prime Minister Mohamed Mustafa expressed his gratitude to Egypt for its efforts since the outbreak of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, appreciating the relief efforts Egypt is providing to the Strip, despite Israeli obstacles preventing the flow and distribution of aid.
This came during a meeting held by Egypt's Ambassador to Ramallah, Ambassador Ihab Soliman, with the Palestinian Prime Minister, in the presence of Dr. Stephan Salameh, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation. The meeting followed Palestinian participation in the high-level international conference for a peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two-state solution, held at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
Dr. Mohamed Mustafa stressed the importance of Egypt's role in the early recovery and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip during the next phase.
For his part, the Egyptian Ambassador reiterated his country's welcome of the outcomes of the two-state solution conference and the announcement by several countries, including France, the United Kingdom, and Canada, of their intention to recognize the Palestinian state.
The Egyptian Ambassador reviewed his country's efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement, exchange a number of hostages and prisoners, and ensure the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid.
The Egyptian ambassador affirmed his country's support for the Palestinian National Authority's efforts to enable its return to the Gaza Strip, ensuring the unity of the Palestinian territory and creating a contiguous environment for the establishment of a contiguous Palestinian state.
He emphasized Egypt's categorical rejection of displacement plans and the imposition of sovereignty over the West Bank, which violate international law and threaten the chances of establishing an independent Palestinian state.
The meeting also addressed the need to support efforts to implement the Arab-Islamic plan, build on the outcomes of the two-state solution conference, and continue the necessary preparations for Cairo to host the international conference for early recovery and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip immediately after a ceasefire is reached.
