CAIRO - 2 August 2025: Executive Director of the National Elections Authority and Head of the National Elections Authority's Operations Room, Judge Ahmed Bandari, announced in a Saturday press conference the end of voting process in Egypt's 2025 Senate Elections in 25 embassies abroad.
This comes on the second and final day of the voting process in the 2025 Senate Elections, in addition to the beginning of the voting count.
Judge Ahmed Bandari added that the Egyptian Embassy in Los Angeles was the last polling station where voting began at 7:00 PM on Saturday.
A number of Egyptian embassies have begun vote counting, starting with the Egyptian Embassy in New Zealand, which closed voting at 12:00 PM Saturday. Los Angeles will be the last country to vote.
Elections abroad are being held in 136 embassies and consulates in 117 countries around the world. The National Elections Authority Board of Directors issued Decision No. (27) of 2023 specifying their locations and addresses.
Vote counting is scheduled to take place in accordance with the decision of the National Elections Authority. After the voting process concludes, the election committee will count and tally the number of votes cast, the number of valid and invalid votes, the number of valid votes received by each individual candidate, and the number received by the candidate list.
This will be documented in a report signed by the head and secretary of the polling committee.
The Senate election papers, the voter list, the report, and any appeals will be sent to the National Elections Authority (NEA) in accordance with the procedures and within the timeframe specified by the Authority. The Authority will determine how election committees abroad will retain a copy of the committee's results.
The fifth press conference held by the National Elections Authority's operations room, chaired by Judge Ahmed Bandari, the Authority's Executive Director, has just begun to inform the public inside Egypt of the latest developments regarding Egyptians voting abroad in the Senate elections. Vote counting is scheduled to begin after the second day of voting concludes at 9:00 PM local time in each country.
Voting began at 7:00 PM on Saturday in the Los Angeles committee, which is the last country to vote due to the time difference with Egypt. Meanwhile, a number of Egyptian embassies began counting ballots.
