Cairo - 31 July 2025: Counselor Hazem Badawy, President of Egypt’s National Election Authority (NEA), confirmed that the 2025 Senate elections will take place under full judicial supervision, ensuring maximum transparency and credibility.

 

In his speech marking the launch of the Senate elections, Badawy stated that a judge will be present at each and every ballot box, both inside Egypt and abroad, as part of the NEA’s commitment to free and fair elections.

 

He also highlighted that the electoral process will be closely monitored by a wide range of international and local observers. This includes:

 

20 foreign diplomatic missions 9 international organizations 59 local civil society organizations 168 international media outlets

 

 

These observers will monitor the voting procedures, assess the transparency of the process, and report on the fairness and integrity of the elections.

 

The NEA emphasized its readiness and the steps taken to guarantee that all logistical, legal, and procedural aspects of the election meet the highest standards. The authority called on all eligible citizens to participate actively, reaffirming that voting is not just a right, but a national duty.

 

This announcement comes just of the elections, with Egyptians abroad set to vote on August 1 and 2, while domestic voting will take place on August 4 and 5.
