CAIRO – 28 July 2025: Egypt has operated a second train from Cairo Station to Aswan, on Monday to facilitate the voluntary return of Sudanese nationals to their country.
The Egyptian National Railways announced earlier that Special train No. 1940 will operate, Monday, July 28. It departed from Cairo Station at 11:00 AM to arrive at the High Dam at 11:40 PM.
The same train, No. 1945, will return from Aswan to Cairo on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, to serve the public. It will depart from Aswan Station at 8:30 PM and arrive at Cairo Station at 9:25 AM.
Last week, Monday July 21, The Egyptian Railway Authority operated the first special train to facilitate the voluntary return of Sudanese nationals and their families to their country.
The Ministry of Transport confirmed that this comes within the framework of joint cooperation and close fraternal relations between Egypt and Sudan, and within the framework of the Egyptian Railway Authority's implementation of all measures that contribute to facilitating the voluntary return of Sudanese to their country.
Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, assigned the Chairman and leaders of the Egyptian Railway Authority to provide all necessary services for the comfort of Sudanese nationals until their safe arrival at the High Dam Port.
The Egyptian National Railways Authority wished our Sudanese brothers a safe journey and a dignified return to their homeland.
