Egypt denies reports claiming protesters stormed its embassy in Libya

CAIRO – 27 July 2025: An official at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigration denied media reports claiming that protesters attempted to storm the Egyptian Embassy in Tripoli, saying these reports are “false.”

In his Sunday comments to Youm7, the official confirmed that the indicated building is not currently affiliated with the Egyptian Embassy in Libya, but rather is a vacant building that has been used by the embassy for more than a decade. 

He also confirmed that none of the Egyptian Embassy staff is present in the building.
