CAIRO – 27 July 2025: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelattyn headed to New York on Sunday, July 27, 2025, to participate in the High-level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, which is being held at the United Nations headquarters.
The conference, which is co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia, will convene on July 28 and 29.
In a joint statement released on July 24, 2025, Egypt, along with nine other Islamic nations, the Arab League, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, reaffirmed their commitment to the two-state solution based on international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative, and to the realization of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
They also strongly condemned the Israeli Knesset’s approval of the declaration calling for the imposition of the so-called “Israeli sovereignty” over the occupied West Bank.
