CAIRO – 20 July 2025: Egypt welcomed the signing of the Declaration of Principles between the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the Congo River Alliance – March 23 Movement, reached in Doha.

 

Egypt expressed hope that the declaration will serve as a constructive step toward achieving comprehensive and lasting peace in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. It also hopes the agreement will help improve humanitarian conditions and living standards in the country, while strengthening the foundations of peace and security at the regional level.

 

Egypt commended the role played by Qatar and the United States in facilitating dialogue between the two parties.

 

Reaffirming its steadfast support for all regional and international efforts aimed at promoting security, stability, and development across the African continent. Egypt underscored the importance of respecting the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of states, and resolving disputes through peaceful means.
