CAIRO - 10 July 2025: As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen regional coordination, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Badr Abdelatty, held a series of phone conversations on July 9 and 10 with his counterparts in Qatar, Jordan, Bahrain, Algeria, Oman, Kuwait, and Morocco.

The calls are part of Egypt’s sustained diplomatic engagement with fellow Arab nations and come at a critical time for the region, particularly in light of the escalating humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

Abdelatty spoke with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, prime minister and minister of foreign affairs of Qatar; Ayman Safadi, deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs and expatriates of Jordan; Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani of Bahrain; Ahmed Attaf of Algeria; Badr bin Hamad Al-Busaidi of Oman; Abdullah Al-Yahya of Kuwait; and Nasser Bourita of Morocco.

The discussions focused on means to strengthen relations and the shared commitment to advancing joint Arab action. Minister Abdelatty underscored the importance of deepening strategic partnerships with sister Arab countries, in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. He highlighted the positive momentum in Egypt’s relations across the Arab world, as reflected in growing cooperation on both bilateral and multilateral fronts.

A key focus of the conversations was the situation in Gaza. The ministers exchanged views on the latest developments in the strip and the urgent need to de-escalate hostilities.

Abdelatty reviewed Egypt’s ongoing efforts, in cooperation with Qatar and the United States, to broker a ceasefire, facilitate the release of hostages and prisoners, and ensure the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid.

He also outlined Egypt’s plans to host the Early Recovery and Reconstruction Conference in Gaza, in partnership with the Palestinian government and the United Nations, to be convened immediately following the conclusion of a ceasefire agreement.

The calls reaffirmed the shared determination among Arab countries to enhance coordination in addressing regional crises and advancing peace, stability, and development in the Arab world.
