CAIRO - 2 July 2025: Private sector workers will receive an official paid holiday tomorrow, Thursday, July 3, 2025, on the occasion of the June 30 Revolution anniversary, instead of the previous Monday, June 30, 2025.
This applies to private sector workers subject to the provisions of the Labor Law. Employers are entitled to employ workers on these two days if work conditions require it. In this case, the worker is entitled to double their wages for these two days, in addition to their wages.
This comes within the framework of the government's commitment to standardizing official holiday dates for all workers across various government sectors—whenever possible—to achieve the social and national purpose of official holidays on special occasions and holidays.
The Ministry issued Circular No. 12 of 2025 regarding granting workers subject to the provisions of the Labor Law issued by Law No. 12 of 2003 an official paid leave on the occasion of the anniversary of the June 30 Revolution. Accordingly, the heads of the central departments in the Ministry’s office and the directors of the labor directorates - each within the limits of his jurisdiction - are obligated to work on disseminating the provisions of this “circular” in work and production sites to work in accordance with it, and to draw attention to putting its provisions into effect.
