4 people dead, 6 missing after sinking of oil rig in Red Sea

CAIRO -1 July 2025: Four people dead, 21 others were rescued while six still missing after the snaking of an oil rig while sailing to the Ashrafie area in the Red Sea.

The ‘Adam Marine 12’ oil rig reportedly had 31 people on board. It was towed by three marine tugboats.

Two aircrafts were announced to take part in the search for the six missing people in the oil rig sinking accident.

Ministers of Petroleum and Labor headed to the accident site along with a team gathered from both ministries to follow the accident and assess the situation on the ground, and monitor rescue operations.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources said in a statement that they are closely monitoring the situation and taking the necessary measures in coordination with the relevant authorities in the region.
