Sisi praises Qatar’s response to Iranian attack in phone call with Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani

CAIRO - 24 June 2025: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi told the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in a Tuesday phone call that Egypt condemns any violation of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar, while praising its air defense.

Following the Monday Iranian attacks on Al-Udeid base, Sisi praised the “wisdom and skill” of the Qatari leadership in managing the crisis.

He also praised Qatar's military capabilities, particularly the efficiency of its air defense systems in confronting the Iranian attack, appreciating its protection of the security and sovereignty of its land. 

The two leaders exchanged views on the latest regional developments in the Middle East and efforts to establish peace, including the ceasefire between Iran and Israel, as well as the intensive Egyptian-Qatari coordination to achieve a truce and ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
