Jordanian Prime Minister praised Egypt’s role in the region saying, “today, we emphasize the importance of that role in that difficult stage where there is a need to re-crystallize a leading Arab position to preserve the nation’s interests and reestablish security and stability paving the way for a prosperous future.”

Mulki added that both parties reached solutions for pending strategic issues, and discussed expanding trade exchange which reached $550 million in 2016 and $200 million in the first quarter of the first year.

Jordan’s Prime Minister highlighted that geo-political issues in the region caused shrinkage in Arab trade exchange. That is why the Egyptian and Jordanian sides have been keen to strengthen cooperation in the domains of trade, investment, agriculture, energy, phosphates mining and treatment, health, medicine, transportation, education, security, labor and consular work.

A final formulation for eight documents were finalized in the domains of judiciary, consular affairs, social affairs, planning and international cooperation, maritime ports, high education, small and medium projects, and stocks market.

Mukry thanked Egyptian and Jordanian ministers for their efforts in the technical and preparatory committees for the joint high committee.

That is the 27th session of the Egyptian-Jordanian Joint Higher Committee held to implement what it had been agreed on in the last meetings held in Cairo in August 2016 and to review the cooperation between the two countries in the economy and investment.

Ismail is accompanied by the ministers of health, industry and trade, investment and international cooperation, and petroleum in addition to the head of the Organization and Management Agency.
