12 killed in two attacks in Kirkuk, Anbar governorates in Iraq

BAGHDAD - 27 July 2017: An Iraqi security source said Thursday 12 people were killed and several others injured in two separate attacks in Kirkuk and Anbar governorates.

The source said, according to Arabiya news channel, that eight civilians including three women were killed in an armed attack by terrorist Daesh organization on the village of Elkakaiya, Daqouq district in the south of the city of Kirkuk.

A security force cordoned off the incident area and chased the assailants. The bodies were taken to the forensic medicine department, according to the source.

Furthermore, a double suicide attack with two explosive belts was carried out on Amreya Fallujah police station in Anbar, killing a policeman and injuring another.

One of the suicide bombers was killed by army forces while the other one blew himself up
