Minor earthquake strikes Giza, no reports of damage: Red Crescent

CAIRO - 2 June 2025: The Egyptian Red Crescent called on citizens to take the necessary measures to protect themselves from earthquake hazards. The Red Crescent noted that the Red Crescent's operations room detected an earthquake measuring 2.31 on the Richter scale, at a depth of 3.17 km, near Giza at 8:10 p.m.

 

Red Crescent stated that the earthquake is minor, situation stable, and no reports of damage

 

The Red Crescent's operations room is monitoring the effects of the earthquake, which was felt by Giza residents. Necessary measures have been taken, and the emergency plan has been activated.

 

The Red Crescent confirmed that the tremor was minor, and urged citizens to take the necessary measures to protect themselves from earthquake hazards.

 

The Red Crescent issued urgent instructions to citizens: avoid approaching old buildings or those with cracks; call the hotline 15322 to report any emergency situations only; and follow official updates on the official Egyptian Red Crescent page. The Red Crescent noted that the situation is stable, with no reports of human or property damage to date.
