CAIRO – 26 May 2025: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority advised citizens on Monday to avoid direct exposure to the sun during peak hours due to the intense heat wave the country is facing.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority urged citizens to adhere to drinking plenty of water, avoid direct exposure to the sun, and cover their heads during going out.

Monday, May 26, marks the peak of the intense heat wave that hits across most parts of the country.

Extremely hot weather will prevail during Monday, according to The Egyptian Meteorological Authority. Warmer temperatures will be witnessed at northwestern coasts, and moderate temperatures at night and in the early morning.

Active winds are expected across most areas. Maritime navigation will be disrupted along the beaches of Alexandria, El Alamein, Marsa Matrouh, and Salloum, with waves ranging from 2.5 to 4 meters high.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority explained the expected maximum and minimum temperatures for Monday as follows:

Cairo

High: 40°C

Low: 21°C

Alexandria

High 26°C

Low 18°C

Marsa Matruh

High 24°C

Low 18°C

Sohag

High 42°C

Low 25°C

 

Qena

High 43°C

Low 25°C
