Egypt urges its nationals in Libya to remain home amid clashes

CAIRO - 14 May 2025: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called on Egyptians in Libya to exercise the utmost caution and remain in their homes until calm and stability are restored in the country.

In a Wednesday statement, the ministry urged Egyptians to communicate with the Egyptian Embassy in Tripoli at (00218914897985).

Egypt is following with great concern the ongoing developments in Libya and the ongoing military clashes in the capital, Tripoli, which could lead to an open escalation and threaten the lives and capabilities of the Libyan people, according to the statement.

It called on all Libyan parties to uphold national interests, end the current escalation, and resort to reason to preserve the capabilities of the Libyan state.
